Texas Sports 365.com, a Texas Sports Calendar, was created to inform and enlighten its visitors about sporting accomplishments of native Texans or those associated with Texas. Each day will feature a notable sporting achievement by a Texan. On days that no achievement occurred, the calendar will feature another Texas Sports fact.
In addition to the calendar, we list Texans in the Pro and College Football Hall of Fame, Heisman Trophy winners and college national champs. For baseball, read which Texans are in the Baseball Hall of Fame, who were Most Valuable Players, Rookie of the Year, Cy Young winners and Manager of the Year. In the history of golf, see who from Texas is in the World Golf Hall of Fame, which Texans have won the U.S. Open, the British Open, the PGA and the Masters tournaments.
The calendar and website were inspired by two native Texans who love sports. One is the son of a former major league baseball announcer. The other is a Texas broadcaster who has covered a variety of sports in the Lone Star State for over thirty years and has met or interviewed many of the athletes you will read about.
We hope you enjoy reading about the record-setting athletic accomplishments and the strange-but-true events that have taken place in Texas Sports through the years. As someone once said, “You can't make this stuff up”. Log on tomorrow for another eventful Texas Sports happening found only on Texas Sports 365.com.
